The Kunpeng undergoes continuous transformation, pooling wisdom to empower innovation. On September 2, the Wuxi regional finals of the Fifth Tianjin University Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were held in Huishan. Focusing on the fields of “advanced propulsion and intelligent manufacturing,” 22 cutting-edge technology projects competed on the same stage, showcasing their innovative vitality and discussing opportunities for development. Attending the event were Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Tianjin University, Jin Donghan; Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Internal Combustion Engine Society, Li Shusheng; Director of the Institute of Internal Combustion Engines at Tianjin University and Dean of the Wuxi Research Institute, Zu Bingfeng; founding partner of the Beiyang Haitang Fund and Chairman of Jiuan Medical, Liu Yi; Chairman of Ren’ai Group, Ma Ruren; General Manager of the Beiyang Haitang Fund, He Yongjun; as well as district leaders Shi Guohong, Meng Dong, and Yu Jie.
At the roadshow, 22 participating teams—representing cutting-edge fields such as energy storage, fuel cells, lubrication and friction, and robotics—demonstrated their capabilities, strengths, and competitive edge, showcasing the innovative spirit and entrepreneurial vigor of Tianjin University’s community. After fierce competition, the wafer‑level ultra‑thin dicing blade project and the domestic‑substitution industrial CT hardware–software platform R&D and intelligent inspection application project each clinched first prize in the Growth Category; meanwhile, the high‑performance sodium‑ion battery cathode material R&D and industrialization project for transportation and power sectors, along with the pallet‑storage robot expert—Smart Think Tank project, were awarded first prize in the Startup Category.
Taking this competition as an opportunity, the participating scientists, entrepreneurs, and start-up founders gained a deeper understanding of Huishan District’s economic development, industrial structure, business environment, and the latest details of the “Hui·Pengfei” Talent Program. With a focus on fostering a favorable ecosystem for scientific and technological innovation and industrial growth—one that respects and nurtures talent, offers a high quality of life and work, and promotes mutual collaboration and integration—Huishan will, as always, welcome ambitious individuals to actively contribute to the district’s science‑and‑technology‑driven development. By harnessing the vigorous energy and dynamism of innovation, we will jointly create a bright vision for the district’s “Five Bases, Four Innovations” and “Kunpeng Transformation,” and strive to write a new chapter in Huishan’s modernization, one marked by strength, prosperity, beauty, and excellence.
